Soxhlet extraction includes flat bottom flask,extraction tube,condenser.It is made of borosilicate glass.Also made by hand blowing.The working principle of:The solid material is ground prior to extraction to increase the area of solid-liquid contact. Then, the solid matter was placed in a filter paper jacket and placed in an extractor, and the lower end of the extractor was connected to a round bottom flask containing a solvent, and a reflux condenser was attached thereto. The round bottom flask is heated to boil the solvent, the vapor rises through the branch pipe of the extractor, is condensed and drops into the extractor, and the solvent is contacted with the solid for extraction. When the solvent surface exceeds the highest point of the siphon tube 4, the solvent siphon containing the extract is used. The flask is returned, and a part of the material is extracted, and the solid matter is continuously extracted as a pure solvent, and the extracted material is concentrated in the flask. The liquid-solid extraction uses the solvent to have a large solubility in the desired component of the solid mixture, and the solubility to the impurities is small to achieve the purpose of extraction and separation.During the experiment, it can be observed that as the reflux progresses, when the liquid level of the ethanol solution under reflux in the extraction cylinder is slightly higher than the top of the soxer of the Soxhlet extractor, the ethanol solution in the extraction cylinder is siphoned and completely flows back into the flask. Then reflow, siphon, record the number of siphons. After siphoning 5-6 times, when the color of the extract in the extraction cylinder becomes very shallow, it means that most of the extract has been extracted, stop heating, remove the electric heating sleeve, and cool the extract. Remove the Soxhlet extractor (if there is still a small amount of extract in the extraction cylinder, tilt it all to the round bottom flask), install a condensing tube for distillation, and pour it into the evaporating dish containing the quicklime when it is about 5 mL left.
